Taking Time Out To Say THANKS

It's fortunate that we live in a country where corporations, government agencies, and schools nationwide give us a paid day off to say THANKS. We have an entire day we call Thanksgiving dedicated to just that - giving THANKS.

As mothers, we train our children to say THANKS. It's the polite and considerate thing to do for people who do something nice.

So, on both a public and private level, we value giving THANKS.

But, when was the last time you said THANKS to your feet for holding your body up day after day, or your hands for handling all the many things you do each day, or your brain for directing your body and giving you creative ideas. How do you say THANKS to your own body?

Too often, we run ourselves into the ground taking care of others, preparing for big days like Thanksgiving, and neglect to say THANKS to us.

Say THANKS to yourself - hire a Personal Attaché to take the load off.

We are eager to help.

Life Lessons from TinkerBell?

This week, I watched the movie TinkerBell with my children. Little did I know that TinkerBell was going to be an Engineer - and an Industrial Engineer at that! I could really relate to this tinkering, ambitious, young diva. She was a process improvement guru, a woman having an identity crisis, and a young person with a dream that drove her to do crazy things.
Here's what TinkerBell can teach us, ladies.

Lesson #1: Stop trying to be someone you are not.

  • Identify your talents

  • Stop wasting time trying to master things you arent good at

Lesson #2: Use what you have.

  • Recycle - make old things new - use old things to serve new purposes

Lesson #3: Work smarter.

  • Find more efficient ways to do things

  • Retool to do things faster

Lesson #4: Build a team.

  • Don't do it alone

  • Get others with different talents involved

Once you do all these things, the outcome is very positive and predictable:

Outcome #1: You will reach your own goal.

Outcome #2: You will be a blessing to others.

You may not excel at organization, or cooking, or gift selection - or simply don't have the time to do it all. Choose what you want to do with your time and let us handle the rest.
